While I was pregnant with my second baby, a girl, my husband was overseas in Afghanistan for months at a time. I knew from my first pregnancy that he wouldn't have the ability to be as involved as we both would have liked. This is what ultimately lead me to the decision to hire a doula. I did a lot of research and when I found Chadwick I just knew she was the right person to be by my side. Chadwick came and helped me write my birth plan, and we were ready for little girl to make her entrance. Then came my last OB appointment... she was breech... I was so beside myself about having a c-section. Chadwick knew exactly how to calm me and my husband when all the fears came flowing out. She was there bright eyed at 5:00 AM on the morning of the c-section and helped ensure that everything went smoothly. I can not even begin to express the vital role Chadwick played in the birth of my daughter, Charlotte. I hope to have Chadwick by our side when it comes time for a VBAC.
