Encapsulation, Raw Method- This is the method preferred by most of our clients. The placenta is dehydrated from its raw state- the temperature is kept at 160 degrees fahrenheit in order to retain as many nutrients and hormonal properties as possible, while also maintaining safe practice standards. You will generally get 100-150 capsules. ($200, plus a $25 deposit). Encapsulation, Steamed Method (Traditional Chinese Medicine style)- The placenta is steamed with warming spices, bringing the temperature to a higher state and altering the properties. It is then dehydrated and encapsulated. Reports state that this has a beneficial, but milder effect that is sometimes preferred. Capsule quantity decreases to approx. 80-120 ($225, plus a $25 deposit) **It has been a request that we do 1/2 raw and 1/2 TCM. We can offer you this modification to the service at $225 as the encapsulation fee. Tinctures- A piece of your raw placenta (what is equivalent to approximately 5 pills) is prepared over a 6 week period. We will return it to you for delayed or immediate use. This is something that you can reach for instead of an over the counter pain reliever when you are experiencing hormonal headaches, cramps, unruly periods, or particularly hormonal days. You are also encouraged to save and use this at menopause. ($25 for 2 oz dropper or buy 2, get the 3rd for free!) Placenta Prints- This is a way to remember your child's little passenger that resided in your belly. The umbilical cord makes a beautiful trunk and the veins extend out as branches. We use a high quality water color paper that will keep well and can be beautifully displayed for years. We prefer to use the blood on the placenta so that no additional ingredients are introduced before encapsulation but we will gladly use vegetable juice if you wish. Colors are not recommended, but if desired we can use safe, food grade colors.
